North Korea Prevents Hair Loss

Posted by kyochan

So the North Korean Regime Stability Assessment by the government-run Korea Institute for National Unification released a report on the “hidden” side of North Korea. While it talks about the usual corruption and break down of rule of law, it contains this last tidbit about living in the worker’s paradise.

“Life in North Korea is less stressful as everyone is poor. So there are less bald people,” the defector said.

That’s nice. But I cannot really think of anyone that would give up his freedom and his worldly possessions for a full head of hair. If North Korea ever decides to do some open-air nuclear tests, though, even that claim will be bunk.

Life of a NK Activist

The Chairman of NKNet gets the axe, literally, it was sent to him along with a bloody photo of him and Kim Jong-Il talking points

Hwang Jang Yop, Chairman of the North Korean Democratization Alliance received yet another condemning delivery containing a warning and axe.

It was revealed on the 26th, that FreeNK broadcast, a defector based broadcast (Chairman, Hwang Jang Yop, representative, Kim Sung Min) with its office in Yangcheon-gu received a cardboard box (20x40cm) on the 22nd. On the cover was written recipients name “Hwang Jang Yop” as well as the senders phone number.

Representative Kim Sung Min of FreeNK broadcast who first received the delivery intended to forward the parcel to Chairman Hwang but felt a strange intuition and hence on the second day (23rd) opened the parcel. Thereupon inside the box was a photo of Chairman Hwang smeared with blood red paint with a “warning” and axe.

The warning contained a startling message “Next time will be no warning, you will receive the punishment according to your sins.”

Sins, eh? Does that mean North Korea isn’t really a Stalinist state but rather a cult centered around Kim Jong-Il?

It criticized Chairman Hwang’s statement “I am against anyone for intimate anti-North Korea forces” mentioned at a conference organized by the Grand National Party on November 23rd calling it “rubbish.”

Also, it claimed “Our nation with our strong military forces is making the U.S. tremble” and cautioned “All U.S. followers will be ruined.”

Hope the army doesn’t defect as soon as it leaves the country. The sender better hope he did not send his real phone number.

This messy layout is just me building towards the next version of ruNK. Now that I’m on my winter break, regular posting will resume as I rebuild the site.
