Message from the Korean American Coalition Atlanta Chapter:
Seoul Train Screening with special guest Adrian Hong, founder of LiNK @ UPS:
Thursday, July 6th
UPS Headquarters Auditorium
55 Glenlake Parkway NE
Atlanta, GA 30328
6:30pm (screening begins promptly at 7pm)June 20th marked World Refugee Day, a day to remember that North Korean refugees are among those who seek asylum and a better life for themselves and their family.
KAC Atlanta is proud to present a screening of Seoul Train, a fascinating, unflinching look at the refugee crisis in North Korea set off by famine and political persecution. Although somewhat controversial, our hope is that this film will spark thought and discussion on the issues that plague the Korean peninsula.
We are especially pleased to invite a panel of experts on the North Korean refugee crisis presented in the film, including Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) founder Adrian Hong who will fly in from DC for this event.
From the film’s web site: With its riveting footage of a secretive “underground railroad,” SEOUL TRAIN is the gripping documentary exposé into the life and death of North Koreans as they try to escape their homeland and China. SEOUL TRAIN also delves into the complex geopolitics behind this growing and potentially explosive humanitarian crisis. By combining vérité footage, personal stories and interviews with experts and government officials, SEOUL TRAIN depicts the flouting of international laws by major countries, the inaction and bureaucracy of the United Nations, and the heroics of activists that put themselves in harm’s way to save the refugees.
KAC Atlanta would like to thank UPS for allowing us to screen this important film in their auditorium. For more information on the film, go to www.seoultrain.com
Currently, LiNK Summer Summit is going on in LA. I hope to hear from them soon.
