“Do The Right Thing”
(Via. Korea Liberator) Almost everyone in the entire blogosphere has commented on Comedy Central censoring an image of Muhammed on South Park, I guess I need to too. So I must reiterate that free speech is a right regardless of place or time. There may be a time when it is not a good idea to express freely, but I state again,
Did he just make fun of Family Guy?
It is a good idea to exercise free speech when you are afraid, especially in fear. It is even more important to do so when your life is threatened. You are exercising a concept embeded in parchment for hundreds of years. Men die in war for it. Right now, there are millions of people around the who thinks you should shut up right now, from Kim Jong-Il to Tom Cruise. Are you going give them the satifaction of your silence? Hell no! That’s because right now there are millions more people who wants to pat you on the back and say, “you go girl” or “you the man”. And of course, there are millions of people who read paper printed in secret press, listen to a radio that is tuned with a screwdriver, reading blog posts posted via. proxy server. Those people need to see what free speech is like, so that they can strive for it one day. They need an example. Will it be Comedy Central? Will it be the New York Times? Or is going to be you, or me, or the people you know? I implore to express yourself in everyway. If you want to free the people, you have to show how to be free. I say again, support free speech, with courage.
